UGLIPHOTO.COM

Just another Photoblog

About UgliPhoto

I live in Brooklyn Heights New York, and have done for almost nine years on and off. I moved to the USA with my wife from Sunderland, United Kingdom where I was born. I am a self employed web designer and have just taken up photography as a hobby, mainly to inspire ideas for websites and to collect images for my own stock photo library. A few of the photographs taken and viewed are captured with my very first camera a Canon PowerShot. I have just purchase a new Nikon D60 so hopefully I will bet taken a few more better quality images for all to see.

So, what the heck is all this Ugli Photoblog?

This is my “ugli photoblog” or “photographic web log”. It contain photographs, none which are ugli (though some may disagree) of everyday life – taken over the last few years.

Ugli Photo Info

An ugli fruit is a citrus fruit created by hybridizing a grapefruit (or pomelo according to some sources) and a tangerine, and is sometimes called uniq fruit or unique fruit. Its species is Citrus reticulata x Citrus paradisi. So says Wikipedia

A photoblog is a collection of images (photographs) displayed on a website in a log format. It is sort of a web log (or blog), but instead of detailing life and experiences through text we use pictures to do the talking.

So you may be wondering why UGLIPHOTO.COM as a name? Its simple really. I’m allergic to the Ugli fruit and I’ve just started an interest in taking photographs. That’s it! Simple.

The Camera and Lenses

I have just recently purchased a new camera, it is a Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera with a 18-55mm AF-S VR standard lens and a Nikon 55-200mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens.

While not being a professional photographer I wanted something to get me started and after much research this seamed to be a good choice.

After using it over the last few months and taking over 1000 images to date I have to say its great.
